Carry On Travel Essentials

carry on travel essentials, long haul flight carry on essentials

In 2 weeks time I'll be taking off on another adventure. I'll be heading over to England, Scotland and Ireland for 3.5 weeks, and to say I can't wait is an understatement. Flying for 24 hours across to the other side of the globe is extremely tiring, drying on the skin and can be boring. Luckily this is the 4th time I've flow across the globe and have this whole long haul travelling thing down. Above, are all the items that will be in my carry on travel bag that I cannot live without on a long haul flight.

Herschel Little American Backpack Mid Volume

This backpack has now come travelling with me twice, and I cannot leave home without it. The mid volume is the perfect size for a carry on bag or day pack, when you arrive at your destination. It has plenty of room, and I love the combo of the black and brown colours together.

Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser

You'll soon see a theme regarding hydration whilst flying. My skin will end up looking dull and lifeless when I arrive at my destination unless I use some super hydrating products on the way. This Clinique moisturiser is amazing, and really provides hydration for the skin. Perfect for a long haul flight.

Vaseline Hand Cream

More hydration, now for the hands. Even on the ground in day to day life, hand cream is essential for me. I love this one from Vaseline as it isn't sticky and soaks into the hands super quick. Perfect for flights or on the go.

Simple Micellar Wipes

When you're flying for 24 hours, there are no showers where you can refresh yourself along the way. Especially when your layover in Dubai is only 2 hours. I love using the Simple Micellar wipes to refresh my face and give myself a bit of a wipe down along the way. They're also perfect for once you arrive on the ground and need a quick way to take off your makeup at the end of the day.

Typo A5 Journal

Being stuck on a plane, gives you plenty of time to journal. I always bring a journal on my travels to make sure I can write down everything, so I don't forget the smaller details of my days. Typo have so many awesome journals, but I love the one with the world maps on it.

Lanolips 101 Ointment

I mainly use Lanolips on my lips during flights, but it's also really great for using on your cuticles as well. It's super thick so not something I use during the day but perfect for night time and long haul flights.

Palmolive Hand Sanitiser

Day to day I don't use hand sanitiser, but planes are a breeding ground for germs and I don't want to turn up at my destination sick. This is perfect for applying to your hands before eating, or on the go whilst travelling if the public bathrooms aren't that clean.

Colgate Travel Essentials pack

With all your toiletries needing to be under 100ml/100g on flights, I always grab a travel pack before I fly with a toothbrush, toothpaste and some mouth wash. Cleaning your teeth on a long haul flight can really make you feel less gross and more refreshed when you arrive at your destination.

I have a tradition of always picking up a book at the airport before I leave to go overseas, even though I have a Kindle paperwhite. I just love looking through all the options at the airport bookshops. Books also help to keep me occupied on a long flight, you've got nothing but time so it's the perfect time to read that book you want to read.

Olympus Pen E-PL7

I have had my Olympus Pen for a few years now and I absolutely love it. It's an amazing travel camera, with a flip down selfie screen and the ability to transfer pictures from your camera to your phone. My version is a bit old, they now have the EPL-8 and EPL9, with some new features.

Bose Soundsport Earphones

I would love to be able to wear the Bose Quiet Comfort headphones with noise cancelling but they are just too big for my small head. So I settle for the Bose Soundsport earphones instead. I still love these earphones a lot. Whatever your favourite brand or style, earphones or headphones are essential for a long haul flight.
