My sister and I went on a trip to London in 2015, and as crazy Harry Potter fans we had to go visit The Making of Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London. I loved the place and the next time I have more than a few days in London I'm definitely heading back. It was an amazing experience, and they have different experiences depending on when you go. When I was there they had all the animals from the Harry Potter movies, which was awesome. Below is some more information on The Making of Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London.

Buying Tickets
Make sure you purchase your tickets online before you go. If you're going in the high season make sure you book in advance so you can secure your spot. You purchase tickets for a designated time slot, so they can stagger people through the tour.

Getting There
We decided the easiest and cheapest way to get there was to catch the train from London. We caught the train from London Euston to Watford Junction, from there, there is a double decker bus you can catch directly to the studios. It costs £2.50 for a return ticket.

The Studio Tour
Once you're at the studios the fun begins. You line up when it's close to your time slot and the waiting in anticipation begins. When you're time slot is announced you head into a room for a short video on the tour, and then you're lead into another room for a longer video where you get to see Daniel, Rupert and Emma (Harry, Ron and Hermione) talk about the tour. At this point I was brimming with excitement and couldn't wait to enter. When you finally get to walk around the tour you enter the Great Hall, and you're off exploring.

Ministry of Magic Set

There are so many amazing things to see from the costumes, sets, offices and all matter of artefacts from the movies. Once you've spent time walking around and having fun in the first studio, you can stop for a bite to eat and a Butterbeer, which of course is delicious and I highly encourage.

The Potter's Cottage

Next, head outside to see some of the outdoor sets, like the Potter's cottage, The Dursley's house and the Night Bus among other sets. Once you've spent some time outside, head into the second studio for some amazing sets such as Diagon Alley, which was by far my favourite. It was amazing to say the least.

Tips

  • Spend as much time as you can, you are allocated a time to go in but you can stay as long as you like. I wish I would've spent more time wandering around.
  • Buy what you want from the gift shop. Yes it's expensive but when will you have this chance again. I wish I would've bought what I wanted.
  • Don't race through everything. There is a lot of stuff to see, so take it all in.
  • Bring a good camera, and take time taking pictures. There's a lot of people around so take time to get some amazing shots. I wish I would've tried harder in this department.
