Mid-Year Goals

mid year goals
I didn't really make goals at the start of this year. All I wanted to do was travel, and then do what I was "supposed" to do and get a full time job in the field in which I did my university degree in. Well I spent 5 weeks travelling around Europe with my sister, met some amazing people that made me realise I could deviate from the "supposed" to do, and pursue something I wanted to do.

I am a people pleaser so the idea of disappointing people always weighs on my mind. But I am continuously trying to remember it is my life and I need to do what I want to do, and stop worrying about what people might think of me. I know my family and friends in my life just want me to be happy, and I put all the pressure on myself. All that being said I applied to RMIT's Associate Degree in Fashion and Textile Merchandising and got in, so I'll be heading back to uni in July.

Now I have some direction back in my life, I need to get my sense of motivation back. It has been severely lacking the past year. In light of that I've decided I need to create some goals for myself to get back into the swing of things.

1. Focus on my new uni degree and put the effort in: I've been switching around with what I should do career wise for years, even when I was at uni I generally had no clear direction. I have wanted to work in the fashion industry in some capacity since I was 15. This degree is my chance to start a career I'm passionate about, so I want to put in as much effort and focus as I can.

2. Workout 3-5 times a week: When I moved to Melbourne in July 2014, I put on 4kgs over the first 6 months. Then when I went to Europe I put on another 4kg in 5 weeks, argh, it was all Italy's fault. I really want to focus on getting fit again. I eat pretty healthy, so I'm really just lacking in the fitness department. 3-5 times a week is manageable for me, even when I go back to uni, as it's not putting too much pressure on myself but is still enough times per week to make a difference.

3. Blog 2-3 times a week: Over the past year as my motivation subsided, my blog fell to the side. I love this blog and the creativity I get out of it. I want to start posting consistently again and create good quality, helpful content for you guys on the internet.

4. Happiness: Last but certainly not least is happiness. If the above goals don't provide me with joy and happiness then they obviously shouldn't be goals. Happiness is my number 1 goal for the second half of this year and in my life. I want to focus on what makes me happy, taking time for myself, and spending as much time with my family and friends as I can.

Hope you're having an awesome day,
Brie x
